
The Victorian Lebanese Community Council (VLCC), is urging the Lebanese community in the North West Region to take extra cautious to prevent the spread of Corona Virus as the latest report from the Victorian Chief Health Officer has indicated that many cases has been recorded in the following city councils( Hume, Morland , Darebin) where a big population of Lebanese descents lives.
We want to ensure that the Victorian Lebanese Community Council is committed to working closely with those communities to ensure provision of the latest information, especially around changes restrictions reach every – one including those Victorian from Lebanese Origin. It is also important to mention that VLCC is continuously urging the community to follow the national guidelines and instructions from the state health authorities and take the matter more seriously by not gathering in a big number and make sure that we all work together to stop the spread of Corona Virus (Covid-19) and protect our community.
VLCC is maintaining constant and regular meetings and conversations with the community using social media platforms to help raise their awareness and engage them to positively contribute to the ongoing situation.
Important key messages: If you have one of the symptoms contact your GP immediately, symptoms such as acute respiratory infection (E.G. Cough, sore throats, shortness of breath, runny nose, anosmia or loss of smell or loss of taste.
If you are worried and not sure what to do get tested for coronavirus testing centres. Maintain physical distance from others and avoid crowds, wash your hands regularly and cough and sneeze into a tissue or your elbow, stay home and get tested if you’re unwell.
It remains important that if you can work from home, you must keep working from home.
