The Victorian Lebanese Community Council, together with other organisations and community leaders, stands in solidarity with the people of Lebanon during this time of profound hardship and displacement.
Ongoing economic instability, humanitarian challenges, and recent crises have left many families without access to basic necessities, including food, shelter, and medical care.
We recognise the resilience and strength of the Lebanese people in the face of these challenges. However, the scale of the current situation demands greater international support.
We call on the Australian Federal Government to increase its humanitarian assistance to Lebanon, with a particular focus on supporting displaced communities. This includes:
“Every day this conflict continues, more families suffer. The first step must be to stop the violence immediately and without conditions.”
Furthermore, we encourage the Australian Government to advocate for an immediate cessation of the conflict and the reinstatement of the Lebanese state’s exclusive authority to safeguard sovereignty across the entire territory.
Australia has a long-standing commitment to supporting vulnerable populations around the world. At this critical time, we urge the Government to uphold these values by responding swiftly and compassionately to the needs of those affected in Lebanon.
The Lebanese Australian community, along with many others across the country, continues to feel a deep connection to those impacted. We encourage all Australians to support reputable humanitarian organisations working on the ground.
We stand united in calling for dignity, safety, and support for all people affected by this crisis — where our families can live without fear.
